Since vision is your most valuable sense, we recommend and encourage you to have yearly eye examinations. It will permit us to look for changes since your last visit and to review and test a number of factors that are important to healthy eyes. At the end of the exam, we will explain what we find and make recommendations for any follow-up preventive or remedial care thats needed.

Here are some of the areas that we may review during your annual exam:

*Medical, Ocular and Visual History

*Blood Preasure

*Color Vision

*Depth Perception

*Peripheral Awareness

*Retinal Photography

*Prescription Evaluation

*Intra Ocular Eye Health Evaluation

*Glaucoma and Cataract Testing

*Near and Far Vision Analysis

*Focusing Skills

*Eye Coordination

*Visual Learning Evaluation

Comprehensive Eye Examinations

When we do eye exams, we refuse to cut corners. We always schedule ample time so you will never feel rushed. We provide complete eye care for both adults and children. Our comprehensive eye examinations check your eyes inside and out for glaucoma, cataracts and all other eye diseases as well as high blood pressure, diabetes and other systemic diseases. Your visual skills and abilities are carefully evaluated and we pride ourselves on the accuracy of our eyeglass prescriptions. In spite of our track record for highly accurate prescriptions, there are eyes that can be unstable for reasons ranging from medications to illness. In these rare cases, we will gladly re-examine the patient and remake the glasses.

Technology is rapidly changing the eye care industry. We utilize the latest in diagnostic equipment and are committed to keeping up with whatever advances will come next.

Eye Emergencies

Our doctors provide emergency services for eye infections and eye injuries. Please call our office and our staff will work with you to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. State of the art electron microscopes allow us to examine the front surface of the eye and facial areas around the eye for infection or injury. After assessing the extent of the injury or infection a treatment plan will be formulated and explained to you. Treatment may include medications and supportive care. Follow-up visits to monitor your recovery will be scheduled as needed.

Contact Lenses

We can meet all of your contact lens needs-from gas permeable, soft and toric lenses for astigmatism to one-day disposables as well as cosmetically-tinted and bi-focal lenses. We specialize in difficult-to-fit cases and Paragon Corneal Refractive Therapy, "CRT". These specially designed therapeutic contact lens gently and temporarily reshapes the cornea while you sleep. Our Doctors also fit SynergEyes contact lenses.

Refractive Surgery Consultation and Co-manage

If you are considering laser vision correction, our doctors can explain the available choices and help you make decisions that are right for you. Our doctors are trained and certified in both pre-and post-operative care and will help you choose the best surgeon to meet your needs.

Vision Rehabilitation and Vision Therapy

Through our adjacent optometric partner, Excel Institute of Shelby, Dr. Haba diagnoses and provides treatment for visual disorders that may result from visual-motor problems, developmental delays, brain injury, stroke, and neurological disorders.

Good vision involves more than 20/20 eyesight or just "seeing clearly." Some visual conditions and/or hand-eye-body coordination problems cannot be treated adequately with just glasses, contact lenses, or surgery and are best resolved through programs of Visual Rehabilitation and Vision Therapy. Our practice provides supervised in-office treatment programs. To find out more:

Perceptual / Motor Evaluations

Sometimes people need help to analyze and integrate information. Our optometric partner, Excel Institute of Shelby offers testing and remediation for patients who read or write backward, perform below expectation, exhibit poor reading comprehension, work slowly, disrupt a classroom or perform well in some areas while doing poorly in others. We also offer treatment for lazyeye, strabismus and amblyopia.

Children's Vision Testing

More than 80 percent of what a child learns is strongly dependent on his or her vision. To maximize your child's achievement, we provide annual exams that diagnose, monitor and address conditions that may affect visual processing and learning.

Eyewear Designing and Dispensing

We have hundreds of fashionable frames as well as the most current lens options. Certified opticians will help you choose the best frames and lenses to accommodate your visual needs. Our on-site laboratory guarantees quick delivery of your new eyewear.

Sun, Sport, and Safety Eyewear

InfantSEE® Providers

The InfantSEE® Assessment Explained

The InfantSEE® assessment offers early detection of potential eye and vision problems as a complement to the eye screening conducted in a pediatric well-care visit. A comprehensive assessment between the ages of 6 months and 12 months is recommended to determine healthy development of vision. Risk factors for many eye conditions, including amblyopia (often referred to as lazy eye), muscle imbalances, and some ocular diseases, have no signs or symptoms and may not be detected in a well-baby check-up. Such pediatrician visits include care and services performed by all personnel and last an average of 22.1 minutes, which is ample time for screening and detecting potential large-scope health problems. However, significant risk factors for eye and vision disorders are not detectable by base-level infant eye screening, and even early retinoblastoma, the seventh most common pediatric cancer, is detected more than 80 percent of the time outside the doctor’s office by a family member or friend.
